Functieomschrijving

As the Manager of the Engineering SupportSubdepartment, you will guide your team toward the effectivedelivery of engineering support services. Your role will involveproviding leadership and strategic oversight while managingpersonnel, optimizing resources, and enhancing tool proficiency.Additionally, you will play a key role in broader engineering andproposal initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing resource planning for thegroup to ensure optimal distribution across project teams, ensuringall necessary capabilities are available. Making sure that allmanagement tasks are performed within established timelines,quality standards, and budget constraints. Cultivating internal andexternal partnerships, collaborating with other entities andsuppliers to meet shared strategic objectives. Assessing andenhancing internal performance metrics to build a productive andunified team. Proposing enhancements to operational plans,policies, and procedures to meet business goals, aligning with bothshort- and long-term priorities, while fostering innovativeapproaches within the department. Providing expert support forproposal reviews and engaging in cross-functional designassessments alongside project teams and suppliers. Contributing tothe ongoing evaluation and improvement of processes, as well as thedevelopment and retention of knowledge within thedepartment.

Functie-eisen

ABachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technicalfield.

A minimum of ten years of experience with variousengineering concepts and practices, particularly in theengineering, manufacturing, and integration of complex systems,preferably in maritime or mechanical domains related to new shipconstruction. Familiarity with management techniques, especially infinancial and contract oversight. Proficiency in both Dutch andEnglish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong references, as a standard pre-employment security screeningis part of the recruitment process.

Important:
Permanent EU citizenship and a validpassport are mandatory; candidates holding only an NL/EU work visaor those with mixed EU and non-EU nationality are not eligible dueto the requirements linked to the military nature of theprojects.
