We are looking for young talent willing to combine writing their thesis with working as a student assistant in one of our departments. We firmly believe that this combination provides the candidate with the best opportunity to experience what working for Ortec Finance is like. The length of this program is typically 7 months but can be tailored to the candidate's preferences. During the application process, R&D Labs will explore relevant thesis topics to work on during your internship. In addition, based on your ambitions and interests, we match you to one or more departments to work for us as a student assistant.

who are creative; who like problem solving; who are able to bring theory into practice.

And, preferably with expertise in one of the following areas:

Machine learning Applied mathematics IT technologies Econometrics

This position is only open to students that are in their last stage of their Master of Science (MSc) or Bachelor of Applied Sciences/Engineering.

In addition, we provide you with a salary based on the ratio, internship and student assistantship; You will be based at either our Rotterdam or Amsterdam office; Flexibility in working from home or at the office; Possibility to grow within the company; Master students receive 1.396,80 euro (grow month allowance) based on a combined function of two days as a student assistant and three days internship. For Bachelor positions, the gross monthly allowance is 1.192,80 euro.

R&D Labs

Since its establishment, Ortec Finance has put innovation through applied scientific research and IT developments on the forefront. Our research and innovation activities are concentrated within the Ortec Finance R&D Labs.

We work and experiment with both new modelling approaches and IT techniques and concepts in order to research their applicability to investment decision-making. R&D Labs aims to be the linking pin between Ortec Finance and the scientific research community. It performs innovative, high-quality research with a strong practical focus. We collaborate with students, academics and external parties to design the future of investment decision making.
