Due to the short-term nature of the assignment, the ICC reserves the right to make an appointment at one grade lower than that stated in the vacancy with a modified job description.

A current ICC staff member who is holding a fixed-term appointment may apply for any short-term position. Where a current ICC staff member is selected to a short-term position, he or she will be temporarily assigned to the position in line with section 4.10 of ICC/AI/2016/001. GS-level posts are subject to local recruitment only.

The terms and conditions of service for staff members appointed under a short-term appointment are governed by ICC/AI/2016/001.

Organisational Context
The Division of External Operations (DEO) is responsible for managing the activities of the Court’s country offices through proper guidance, which requires coordination, anticipation, planning and monitoring. Interaction is based on effective communication between DEO and the Chief of Country Office, which entails obtaining, processing and disseminating relevant information in a timely manner. DEO supports the Chief of Country Office in interaction with external actors.
The Division strives to ensure the overall efficiency and effectiveness of its field operations with a view to supporting the Court’s operations and development.
The Assistant ICT Support Officer will provide streamlined operation of the organization’s ICT, in line with the organization’s objectives. 
Working directly with the ICT lead team in The Hague, the Assistant ICT Support Officer will be required to work with country office staff and professionals to ensure timely service delivery and the provision of advice, guidance and technical support to the country office team. 
The Assistant ICT Support Officer will be required to coordinate a range of tasks and relationships where set procedures and/or guidelines apply.
Duties and Responsibilities • To support management and maintenance of the AV equipment at the country office;
• To support telecommunications and maintain network equipment;
• To contribute to the configuration and installation of AV equipment, telecommunications, network devices and solutions;
• To maintain and prepare technical and user documentation, as well as ad-hoc training materials;
• To ensure appropriate system functionality in line with country office requirements relating to Headquarters, such as data integrity, monitoring, logging, access management and information security; 
• To ensure adequate maintenance and support of country office equipment;
• To provide adequate technical ICT support to end users;
• To perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Qualifications Education: An advanced university degree in IT, computer science, computer engineering or other related fields is required. A first level university degree in combination with at least two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. IT service management certification, ITIL, is highly desirable. 
Experience: A minimum of two years (0 years with an advanced university degree) of relevant professional experience in IT/ICT support and networking. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of computer systems/networks and a range of software applications;
• Familiarity with health, safety and welfare regulations and best practice in ICT;
• Familiarity with data and resource protection requirements;
• In-depth technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, in particular for managing and configuring authority and organization LANs, WANs, WLANs, VLANs, VPNs, VOIP etc;
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards and WAPs;
• Excellent knowledge of current networking protocols and standards;
• Knowledge of and familiarity with telecommunications principles; and
• Awareness of cybersecurity issues. 
Knowledge of Languages: Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is required. Working knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Spanish and Russian) or Ukrainian would be considered an asset.
