Sustainability Transformation Officer at Rabobank

As a Sustainability Transformation Officer, you will contribute to reaching the mission: ‘Growing a Better World Together’. As part of the transformation team, your role supports and cooperates with colleagues in driving Rabobank Group-wide sustainability ambitions and plans. This encompasses developing the strategic sustainability roadmap and monitoring its execution.

Your primary focus in the STO team is learning and development (L&D), ensuring Rabobank employees have the right knowledge, skills, and capabilities on sustainability. In close cooperation with the senior L&D lead in the Transformation team, other Group Sustainability experts, HR, and learning and development experts across different domains of the bank, you will design, deliver, and maintain clear and engaging training products that inspire and ignite action. This includes e-learnings (e.g., SustainabilityWise) and designing/facilitating training workshops (e.g., the Climate Resilience Game). Additionally, you will play a proactive role in ensuring the continued growth and inspiration of the thriving Sustainability Community.

Rabobank is seeking a hands-on and collaborative sustainability expert with a vision for community management, and learning & development. Transformation is centered around creating and cultivating a collective, inclusive movement that stretches beyond formal structures and plans alone. This role requires organizational sensitivity, personal impact, and drive to shape that movement. Get results

Curriculum Development: Collaborate with HR and domain leads to shape the overarching sustainability learning vision. Define role-specific learning objectives and create a structured training approach for all Rabobank employees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and sustainability awareness. Knowledge Management: Organize knowledge events for different and specific target audiences. Harness, maintain, and share sustainability knowledge using different available platforms such as Rabo Academy’s Sustainability Portfolio, Percipio, and the Sustainability Community. Product Development: Design and develop engaging learning products that empower employees to embrace sustainable practices. Curate relevant content, ensuring it aligns with Rabobank’s sustainability goals. Leverage innovative formats (e.g., e-learning modules, workshops) to enhance knowledge dissemination. Project & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with the Senior L&D Lead to timely deliver training products and work with different departments (e.g., communication, HR) to ensure learning products remain current and relevant. Engage with relevant departments to maintain consistency and alignment across learning initiatives. Communication & Engagement: Proactively nurture the thriving Sustainability Community within Rabobank. Participate and facilitate regular Community Leads interactions, fostering knowledge sharing and inspiration. Help organize impactful events that promote sustainability awareness and encourage employee participation. Actively build and increase the member base of the Sustainability Community.

Hierarchically, you will report into the Manager Sustainability Transformation (“STO”). In your daily work, you will work closely with the STO Senior Learning & Development Lead and various stakeholders across the organization, including sustainability experts in Group Sustainability, HR, business, as well the >6000 colleagues in the Sustainability Community and its Community leads. Bachelor or Master’s degree in a finance, education, HR, social sciences, and/or sustainability-related field 3+ years of working experience in a sustainability analyst/expert role. You possess an excellent understanding of a broad range of sustainability topics and their interconnectedness and can professionally convey the relevance of sustainability developments, its dilemmas, and organizational impact to Rabobank’s broad and senior audience. Excellent communication & facilitation skills. You can convey complex concepts clearly, craft compelling professional narratives, and adapt complex content for different training formats. You are experienced in fostering an open environment that encourages participation while remaining flexible to your audience. Collaborative with an inclusive & growth mindset. Eager to improve bank-wide transformation efforts and grow professionally. Experience with learning & development and community management. Understanding current sustainability learning trends and best practices is beneficial, and experience in developing training materials is preferred. Preferred: Project management skills, proficient in planning, executing, and overseeing learning initiatives. This is what we offer you Up to €7307,- gross per month (scale 9/10 depending on experience) Thirteenth month’s salary, 8% holiday allowance, and an extra budget of 11% of your gross salary for personal use (salary, pension, holiday hours, etc.) Hybrid way of working
