Job description:
Assistant Chief Engineer mission is to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all Engineering aspects of the hotel, with the ultimate goal of providing an exceptional guest experience. The Assistant Chief Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing Engineering departments and processes within the hotel to maintain high standards of service, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
Main responsibilities:
Lead the Engineering Team in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedulesCommunicate with Housekeeping to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities for Guest rooms and public areasDevelop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members, as well as the proper conditions for plants, machinery, and propertyCommunicate with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulationsPrepare Capital and Repairs and Maintenance budgets for EngineeringPerform daily checks around the hotelDiagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotelEnsure good relationships are built with internal and external customersMaintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations ariseMain requirements:
Exposure to budgeting and basic accountingAdvanced knowledge of building and facilities management/engineeringGood proficiency of Bahasa and English both verbal and writtenPositive attitude & good communication skillCommitment to delivering a high level of customer serviceAbility to work under pressure and under own initiativeVery organized and detailsPrevious leadership experience in a engineering department requiredStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesGood interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of employeesService oriented with an eye for detailsFlexibility to respond to a range of different work situationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or similar2 years in a similar position in international Luxury Hotel experienceAt Meliá we are all VIP
