Let's paint the picture of the roleAs part of our IT Procurement team, we are looking for a commercial minded Global Category Manager for IT in truly global company
The role will be part of the Procurement Enterprise Services team and will report to the Enterprise Services Sourcing Director
As Global Category Manager for IT, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of IT procurement for AkzoNobel with a focus on Business Function such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, etc within an IT Procurement team of 6 people
- Developing Sourcing Strategy: Design a sourcing strategy for IT products and services that aligns with IT and Business Functions goals. This involves identifying sourcing options, conducting cost analyses, and managing supplier relationships.
- Supporting internal stakeholders: Collaborating with various departments within AkzoNobel company to understand their needs and promoting Procurement added value
- Taking ownership of the IT Portfolio, setting goals, and developing performance metrics.
- Negotiate contracts with IT vendors to secure the best possible pricing, terms, and conditions for the company.
- Supplier Management: Develop and manage relationships with key IT suppliers, ensuring they meet performance benchmarks and deliver value.
- Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments like IT (CIO), finance, Business Function and legal to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Reporting: Regularly report on IT category performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and any potential risks.
- A commercial mindset with a strong analytical and negotiation skills
- A change agent and the willingness to go across initial perimeter and responsibilities while creating value for the whole Indirect Procurement team
- A key enabler to scale up the level of performance of the IT Procurement department
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in IT industry software and data analysis tools
- A passion for Procurement and IT
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality, or a related field (preferred)
- More than 5 years of experience in IT procurement or a similar sourcing role
- Above average number of annual holidays: 46 days.
