As a Global Insurance Manager at Roll Group, you play a vital role in safeguarding our operations by managing insurance risks, optimizing policies, and ensuring financial protection across all aspects of our global activities. Based in the Netherlands, you'll work on a variety of challenging projects, from managing complex claims to evaluating risks for heavy transport and lifting operations.

Position

The Global Insurance Manager is a strategic position within our Legal, Insurance, and Compliance department. You will oversee all aspects of insurance risk, including onshore and offshore fleets, assets, and large-scale projects. Working closely with brokers, insurers, and internal teams, you will mitigate financial exposure, manage claims, and ensure compliance with global insurance standards.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess risks related to Roll Group's global operations.
  • Manage the insurance portfolio, including marine, cargo, liability, property, and workers compensation coverage.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Roll Group, brokers, and insurers, ensuring the quality of insurance providers.
  • Oversee the administration of global insurance policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead the claims process from reporting to resolution, including handling disputes or investigations.
  • Collaborate with operational and QHHSE teams for timely incident reporting.
  • Provide guidance to senior management on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage insurance-related expenses, recommending cost-effective strategies.
  • Conduct training sessions on risk management best practices and insurance policies.
  • Ensure insurance policies align with the company's global risk strategy.
  • Work with legal and compliance teams to address legislative changes and contract risks.

Your qualifications

  • You are proactive, detail-oriented, and pragmatic in your approach. Your ability to evaluate complex risks, manage insurance portfolios, and provide sound strategic advice to senior management is key to your success in this role.
  • At least a Bachelor's degree (HBO) in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in global insurance management, preferably in logistics, transportation, or heavy industries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments, regions, and with external partners.
  • Confidence to engage with senior management, negotiate with brokers and insurers, and handle high-pressure situations effectively.
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in managing sensitive matters.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both verbally and in writing).
  • Willingness to occasionally travel abroad.

Our selection process

The recruitment procedure will include two face-to-face interviews, possibly back-to-back. Your terms of employment and benefits package will be discussed at a subsequent meeting. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.
