**What will you do?**

The Carrier Manager - Team Leader Planning will be responsible for participating in, and supervising the day-to-day activities of the planning team within carrier management. The Team Leader Planning manages the priorities within the team and ensures a high quality in operator follow up, carrier onboarding, carrier usage and continuous improvement of service and profitability.

The planning team (the operators) is responsible for the whole operations within CtrlChain, from carrier assignment to order follow and customer service/satisfaction. The planning team works closely with the tender team in order to build and strengthen a solid carrier network, advise on retenders (recurring lanes) and manage the service levels of all CtrlChain’s orders and requests.

**Tasks**:

- Supervising the planning team within the Carrier Manager department and participating in the daily work of the team.
- Setting weekly/daily priorities and ensuring the whole team works on the right priorities.
- Having a continuous improvement mindset, trying to do implement changes that improve and automate our operations.
- Focusing on highest quality for on-time performance, assigning the right carriers to the right order and recognizing and acting on areas for improvement.
- Discussing quality of business with sales and providing sales/carrier management with input or market insights in order to achieve higher success rates on adhoc quotations and tenders.
- Management of profitability on orders, recognizing needs for change and act accordingly with the tender and/or planning team.
- Work closely with the Carrier Management Supervisor and the Team Leader Tenders to ensure the Carrier Management department works seamlessly together.
- Supporting tenders in building new relationships with potential carriers to expand CtrlChain’s carrier base.
- Developing and growing existing carrier relationships, including carrier usage of CtrlChain’s tools available and/or planned.
- Properly vetting carriers to ensure high-quality partnerships are being established.
- Continuously monitoring market trends, developments and oil & bunker prices and to be prepared to act on developments with new proposals.
- Acting as a successful intermediary between our businesses and the actual transportation of goods.
- Communicating with all departments/teams involved in order to build the best customer experience aligned with carrier needs and possibilities.

**Who are you?**
- You have at least a MBO/HBO (commercial) degree or work experience.
- You have a minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
- You have a minimum of 1 year of supervisory or lead experience.
- You have good knowledge of logistics/transport by road (preferably Freight Forwarding).
- Experience in sales is a plus.
- You can professionally work in English. Being a Dutch or a Spanish speaker is a must.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- You have coaching skills, the ability to delegate tasks and is able to provide feedback when needed.
- You have confident use of Office 365.
- You have good people management and listening skills.
