**In a nutshell**
As 1st line of defense Data Management Risk Officer you play a crucial role for ensuring the integrity and compliance with relevant regulations of data-related processes, as data plays a significant role in decision making and regulatory compliance.

You help Knab and your colleagues to take intelligent risks by sharing your expertise and act as an inspiring (sparring) partner to the business. In this role you safeguard that risk identification, assessment and taking effective risk response become a second nature within 1st line. Your goal is to ensure that Knab has a compliant, effective and more automated internal data control environment that supports the knab strategy in achieving its goals. Within Data and Analytics domain you are the single point of contact for risk related topics.

**Your main responsibilities**:

- Ensure the necessary controls and management of risks related to ECDA processes
- Identify, monitor, analyze, measure, manage and report data management risks
- You report on compliance progress and inform the relevant stakeholders to steer further compliance and maturity, support CDAO with reporting;
- You enable and support the CDAO to design and implement a Risk and Control Framework which meets Knab’s integrated risk management framework (and thus internal, regulatory and industry standards);
- Together with field experts from 1st and 2nd line you support CDAO and Teams (process & control owners) with the design of effective and (cost) efficient controls and test scripts based on the risks identified
- You facilitate the 1st line with action plan management (design and follow up). You keep track of risk issues and actions and report on timely follow-up to CDAO;
- Contribute to creation of a data control environment
- Oversee, challenge and advise on the appropriate controls implemented in Data Management related processes
- Understand the regulatory environment and emerging trends to support data management risk management
- Contribute to consistent implementation of compliance with BCBS 239 principles for effective risk data aggregation and reporting
- Promote a Data risk aware culture within ECDA and broader Knab organization

**The Team**

The Expert Center Data and Analytics department consists of 35+ data professionals with a big heart for the business value of Data, covering the following domains Data science and Business Intelligence, Data engineering, Data warehousing, Data architecture and modeling, Data governance and Data quality management. The Expert Center Data and Analytics plays a key role in managing Knab data as a strategic business asset and achieving a consistent and uniform view of information based on quality data. The department works with all functions of Knab and is Knab’s Center of Excellence for “all things data”.

You will report to our Chief Data and Analytics Officer, while working closely and align with 2nd line and 3rd line of defense teams, such as Operational Risk Management, Compliance and Internal Audit.

**Your Profile**

There is no predefined route to become a great Data Management Risk Officer at Knab. But to be successful in this role, this is the kind of profile we have in mind:

- Bachelor’s/ Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Management, Economics, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics)
- Experience in risk management/internal audit within financial industry, with a focus on data risk.
- Proven experience in Data Risk Management/Data Governance,
- Knowledge of Data Management frameworks (ex. DAMA -DMBOK, DCAM)
- Knowledge of BCBS 239 principles and other data related regulations (GDPR, AIA etc)
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Results oriented and analytical
- Fluent English is required in spoken and writ
