Directly reporting to this role: Copy Editor & Copy Writer, Translations Specialist, Communications Coordinator

**Purpose**

The Communications Manager is responsible for executing Medline Europe’s communication strategy, including customer relations and communications, internal employee communications, media/press relations and strategy, and crisis communications including press releases, web content and social media. The Communications Manager plays a key role in drafting and editing these various types of communications and is responsible for consistent use of British English in the organisation. In addition, the Communications Manager guides the overarching translations strategy with the Translations Specialist.

**Activities and responsibilities**
- Lead, develop and manage a team of individuals with diverse backgrounds. Hire and retain outstanding talent to work in high-performing teams.
- Continuously provide your team with timely, candid and constructive performance feedback.
- Coach and develop employees to their fullest potential and provide opportunities that enhance employee career growth.
- Recognise and reward employees for their accomplishments.
- Lead the communications team (within Medline’s broader marketing team) to promote the company’s brand and products to external customers and keep internal stakeholders engaged and aware of Medline’s activities and updates.
- Develop and implement a public relations/press strategy including building and managing media lists and writing and distributing press releases.
- Work with country marketing to cascade corporate strategy to specific markets.
- Write and edit content for internal publications and communications, websites, brochures, news articles, press releases, promotional materials, social media etc.
- Prepare company-wide communications and presentations.
- Manage the translations strategy and work closely with the Translations Specialist.

**Job requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Native English language skills, another European language would be a plus
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills; able to write attractive copy
- Creative and innovative problem solving abilities
- Ability to convey relevant thoughts, ideas and key information to the wider organisation
- Proven ability to drive and communicate strategy and tactical details
- Ability to work independently, prioritise your work and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously and meet agreed-upon deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience and success within a communications and marketing environment
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive company initiatives at senior management levels
- Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, changing, highly demanding environment
- Affinity with the medical industry and/or knowledge about European healthcare systems is a plus
