Research Opportunities

You will be part of a team designing and building a highly reliable optical lattice clock, based on our AQuRA project. This project involves collaborating with our partners from VSL and VU to distribute the frequency reference of this clock through fibre links across the Netherlands and Europe.

Your Expertise

  • A master degree in atomic, molecular or optical physics, with experience in ultracold atom or trapped ion experiments.
  • Motivation to work with an ambitious and nice team in a challenging research field.
  • Good command of English.

Our Offer

A temporary contract for 38 hours per week for 4 years, with a possibility to extend. The preferred starting date is autumn-spring. You will be expected to assist in teaching undergraduates and master students. The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between €2,000 to €3,000 (scale P). We also offer a favourable tax agreement, the '30% ruling', for non-Dutch applicants.
