Job Title: Professor of International Teacher Education

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor of International Teacher Education to join our team at NHL Stenden. As a Professor, you will be responsible for conducting innovative research, teaching, and leading a research team in the field of international teacher education.

About the Role

The Professor of International Teacher Education will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research in the field of international teacher education, with a focus on developing and implementing research projects and raising grants/funds.
  • Teaching and supervising students in the International Teacher Education program, with a focus on developing and implementing curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Leading a research team in a clear, fair, organized, and inclusive manner, with a focus on developing and implementing research projects and raising grants/funds.
  • Articulating and sharing the aims and values of the professorship clearly, ethically, and responsively, with a focus on developing and implementing research projects and raising grants/funds.
  • Translating academic research for a non-academic audience, with a focus on developing and implementing research projects and raising grants/funds.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A doctoral degree in a relevant field, with a focus on international education and teacher education.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing research projects and raising grants/funds.
  • Proven experience in co-creation of knowledge between the work field and education.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an established profile through publication and presentations.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion, with a focus on developing and implementing research projects and raising grants/funds.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a structural year-end bonus of 8.3%, paid parental leave, and extensive leave hours and development facilities. The post will be located at and (mainly) executed from Meppel, The Netherlands, but travelling is also involved. Travel allowance according to the NHL Stenden policies.
