Position Summary

As the Chief Engineer for Manufacturing Systems, you will be instrumental in defining the future of our aerospace manufacturing frameworks.

Your main duty will involve the design and development of optimal manufacturing systems that leverage both current and emerging technologies. This encompasses both New Product Introduction and enhancements to existing product lines, aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity.

This position is critical for maintaining our competitive advantage in the aerospace sector and lays the groundwork for the next generation of flight structure manufacturing.

Key Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees and certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years in aerospace manufacturing, process engineering, or industrial architecture, with a proven history of successful project delivery.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing system design technologies and aerospace operational management principles.
  • Project Management: Proven capability to oversee complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and for presenting architectural concepts and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Capacity to adjust to rapidly evolving manufacturing technologies and industry trends.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in industrial architecture, Lean Six Sigma, or project management.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with simulation software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
  • R&D Experience: Background in the research and development of innovative manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding teams and spearheading transformative initiatives.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of aerospace industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • APQP & PPAP Deployment: Experience in deploying Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with part 21 sub part G and EN/AS9100 requirements, as well as HSE regulations such as PUWER and COSHH.
