Postdoctoral Researcher: Exploring the Impact of Male Managers on Work-Life Balance

Postdoctoral Researcher Position

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The successful candidate will work on a project investigating the impact of male managers on work-life balance among male employees.

Research Context

The project aims to explore the role of male managers in promoting work-life balance among male employees. This is a critical area of research, as men's work-life balance is often overlooked, and their participation in parental leave and part-time work is significantly lower than that of women.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses of large datasets to investigate the impact of male managers on work-life balance
  • Collaborate with the principal investigator to develop and implement research designs and methods
  • Write a paper on the findings of the research project

Requirements

  • PhD in Sociology or a related field
  • Experience with advanced quantitative research methods and statistical techniques
  • Excellent academic record, as evidenced by publications or course work
  • Fluency in Dutch is a plus

Working Environment

The postdoctoral researcher will be embedded in the Sociology Department at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The department has extensive knowledge on gender inequality in organizations and experience with analyzing big data. The research will take place under the daily supervision of Dr. Margriet van Hek.
