We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Exchange Officer to join our team at the Admissions and International Office of the Faculty of Humanities.
About the RoleAs an Exchange Officer, you will be part of the Admissions and International Office team within the Education Service Centre (ESC) of the Faculty of Humanities. The ESC consists of approximately 65 staff members and is responsible for all student and educational support for all bachelor and master programs. The Admissions and International Office, the Student Desk, and the administrative secretariat of the Examination Boards work together within the Student Administration section of the ESC.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the smooth operation of our exchange programs in collaboration with your colleague Exchange Officer and other departments within the UvA, such as international offices of other faculties and central services like Student Services.
- Manage the administration of exchange programs and exchange students.
- Support incoming and outgoing exchange students, including organizing information sessions and holding office hours.
- Manage staff mobility exchanges with partner universities, both incoming and outgoing.
- Oversee the exchange programs of the Faculty of Humanities.
- Evaluate partnerships and develop initiatives.
- Provide management information and reports.
- Develop and update procedures.
- Higher education diploma (HBO or university level).
- Relevant work experience and affinity with internationalization.
- Proven experience in student guidance.
- Proven experience with administrative procedures and systems.
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office, knowledge of Topdesk is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal Dutch and English language skills.
- Experience or affinity with the humanities is an asset.
We offer a temporary employment contract for one year, with the possibility of a permanent contract, with a two-month probation period. The employment contract is for 30.4 hours per week. If desired, we can also consider the possibility of working fewer hours (0.6 FTE). This position falls under the UFO profile of Medewerker studentzaken 2 (scale 8). In this position, you will be hierarchically subordinate to the head of the Admissions and International Office.
Your salary will be between €3,000 and €4,000 gross per month (salarisschaal 8) based on full-time employment (38 hours per week), excluding 8% holiday pay and 8.3% end-of-year allowance. The collective labor agreement applies.
