About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Discipline Manager to lead our Structural Hull team at SBM Offshore. As a key member of our Product Design Department, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the team's skill sets within the discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate resources to ensure engineering project tasks are completed within budget, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Take ownership of the overall quality and performance of work performed by the Discipline.
  • Manage uncertainty and provide guidance to the team to ensure projects are properly executed and risk is managed.
  • Ensure efficiency of the work by continuous improvement of tools and engineering processes.
  • Ensure interfaces with other disciplines and stakeholders are consistent and aligned.
  • Manage talent development and resource development, providing individual growth opportunities through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Promote the development of knowledge and expertise within SBM and stay abreast of the latest developments in technology.
  • Manage and develop the network with engineering subcontracting companies.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a University or Technical College education (MSc or BSc degree) and at least 10 years of experience in Structural Hull design in the offshore Oil & Gas industry. You should have strong leadership skills in managing a team that may be working both locally in the office and remotely from site.
