Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Nano-optics/Nanophotonics. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a strong research program and establishing collaborations with our groups active in related areas, as well as with national, European, and global players.

Research Topics
  • Quantum optical processes at the nanoscale
  • Extreme light confinement and coupling at the nanoscale
  • Ultrafast science, transient and nonlinear phenomena
  • Reconfigurable and active photonics
  • Optical metasurfaces for imaging, sensing and metrology
  • Inverse design of nanophotonic structures
  • Advanced simulation, fabrication, and characterization methods for nano-optics and metasurfaces
  • Nanophotonic devices for optical communication and sensing
  • Nanophotonic concepts for energy harvesting and illumination
Job Requirements
  • Motivated researcher, with a PhD in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable domain
  • Ability to conduct high-quality scientific research, reflected in peer-reviewed publications, invited talks, and academic awards
  • Motivation to teach, to contribute to teaching processes, and to develop excellent teaching skills
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring of students and staff, leading a project, or chairing a group
