Job Title: IT Chapter Lead Backend Comfin

At ING, we're looking for a skilled IT Chapter Lead to join our team in Bunnik, NL. As a key member of our Management Team, you'll be responsible for the overall delivery of our IT Area, working closely with our Commercial Finance team to drive innovation and growth.

About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Java engineer with strong people management and coaching skills to lead our Java Chapter. Your focus will be on helping integrate our new IT solution within the larger ING target landscape, designing and building a strategic domain service layer, and fostering the Java capability within the IT area.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Java Chapter, responsible for building and fostering the Java capability within the IT area
  • Help integrate the new IT solution within the larger ING target landscape
  • Design and build a strategic domain service layer
  • Support across various activities, including advising the ITAL, recruiting, and coaching engineers
  • Work with other chapter leads to deliver fast and high-quality software while ensuring stability and security
  • Continuously look for improvements while ensuring a safe and compliant way to run the ComFin IT stack
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong people management and coaching skills, with at least two years of experience
  • Experience in business and IT stakeholder management
  • Excellent knowledge of Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and Design Patterns
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum/DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tooling
  • Strong aptitude for automation and simplification
  • Good knowledge and experience with Test, Deployment, and Monitoring tooling
