Business Development Manager for ESG Data

About the Job

GRESB is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join its EMEA team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and executing the business development plan for the German and DACH market.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and commercial development, with a focus on ESG and sustainability. They will be able to build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, and have a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the business development plan for the DACH Region.
  • Identify and manage a pipeline of prospects and sales opportunities.
  • Manage commercial relationships with existing GRESB Members in the DACH Region.
  • Build and establish productive relationships with broader sector of market-players and associations.
  • Partner with prospective Members to understand their business needs and objectives, feeding these into the product development process.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of market trends, business products, and value propositions.
  • Provide sales input on market needs and pricing to ensure product success.
  • Support the development of key accounts through email, phone, online and live presentations / demonstrations, and in-person meetings.
  • Represent GRESB at external events, conferences, industry working groups, etc.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years' experience and actual achievements of sales targets issued.
  • Experience within sustainability / ESG is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Real Estate and/or Infrastructure sector highly preferred.
  • Good industry network and the ability to develop this further.
  • University degree in a relevant field such as investment, business, economics, or sustainable finance is required. Advanced degrees in any of the same areas is very attractive.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-oriented and mission-driven environment. Must be able to work both independently and within a team.
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability and maturity.
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple opportunity pursuits at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, commercial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the right to work in the chosen location.
  • Fluency in English and German is mandatory.
