High Voltage Electrical Engineer/Consultant

We are seeking a skilled High Voltage Electrical Engineer/Consultant to join our Transmission & Distribution Technology team at Energy headquarters in Arnhem, Netherlands.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with T&D primary equipment. They will be responsible for performing engineering and consultancy tasks, giving advice to customers, and collaborating with other teams within DNV.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing electrical design of HVAC/HVDC systems, substations, interconnectors, or components related to overhead lines, including insulation design, lightning performance, and conductor choice.
  • Preparing specifications and tender documentation.
  • Executing or witnessing commissioning tests, such as factory- or site acceptance tests.
  • Writing clear and high-quality reports and commercial offers.
  • Identifying market opportunities and developing our service portfolio/road map.
  • Contributing to business development.

The successful candidate will be a pro-active and ambitious HV Electrical Engineer/Consultant with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused attitude. They will be eager to learn and explore new opportunities, and have a strong desire to grow and develop within the company.

We will create a plan together with you for your development for the next few years, based on your experience and skills. This will be done through our 70-20-10 philosophy: 70% learning on the job, 20% coaching, and 10% training.

The position offers the opportunity to grow to a (senior) consulting role, where you will sell, lead, and execute projects to help clients realize their project goals and deliverables. Alternatively, you can develop yourself as a senior technology expert, becoming an international authority in your working field.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with T&D primary equipment, and excellent communication skills. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong customer-focused attitude.
