We are seeking a highly skilled Senior High Voltage Electrical Engineer to join our team at DNV. As a key member of our Transmission & Distribution Technology (TDT) team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers in Germany and worldwide with securing and improving the affordability, sustainability, and reliability of their high and medium voltage electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure.

You will be part of a diverse team of 90 professionals with different backgrounds and cultures, located in Dresden and Arnhem, The Netherlands. Together, we deliver specialized and innovative consultancy services to our customers, which are mainly transmission and distribution system operators, power utilities, and industries.

As a Senior High Voltage Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in German and international projects, collaborating with other teams within DNV focused on substation projects, asset management, and renewable energy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing engineering and advising tasks related to high and medium voltage electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure
  • Designing HVAC/HVDC systems, substations, cables, and interconnectors
  • Managing client projects, including quality assurance and control (QA/QC)
  • Developing, processing, and reviewing technical documentations, layouts, designs, specifications, and tender documents
  • Evaluating the condition of substations, cables, and overhead lines and their components
  • Executing or witnessing commissioning tests, such as factory- or site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT)
  • Writing clear and high-quality reports
  • Identifying market opportunities and developing our service portfolio/roadmap
  • Consulting clients on regulatory and environmental developments, as well as implications on investment strategy and technology
  • Transferring knowledge to colleagues

You will have the opportunity to grow to a (senior) consulting role, where you will sell, lead, and execute projects to help clients realize their project goals and deliverables. Alternatively, you can develop yourself as a senior technology expert, recognized as an international authority in your field.

Requirements:

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD degree in electrical engineering from a university or similar education
  • Advanced knowledge and professional experience with electrical systems in the energy industry
  • Pronounced ability for advising and networking, together with clear client focus
  • High interest in project management and consulting of clients
  • Good communication skills in English and German (preferred)
