High Voltage Electrical Engineer/Consultant

We are seeking a skilled High Voltage Electrical Engineer/Consultant to join our team at DNV. As a key member of our Transmission & Distribution Technology team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers worldwide with securing and improving the affordability, sustainability, and reliability of their high voltage electricity transmission & distribution infrastructure.

Your primary responsibilities will include performing engineering and/or consultancy tasks, providing advice to customers related to high voltage electricity Transmission & Distribution (T&D) infrastructure, and collaborating with other teams within DNV focused on substation projects, asset management, or renewable energy.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Performing electrical design of HVAC/HVDC systems, substations, interconnectors, or components related to overhead lines (including insulation design), lightning performance, and conductor choice.
  • Preparing specifications and tender documentation.
  • Executing or witnessing commissioning tests such as factory- or site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT).
  • Writing (or contributing to) clear and high-quality reports and commercial offers.
  • Identifying market opportunities and developing our service portfolio/road map.
  • Contributing to business development.

We are looking for a pro-active and ambitious HV Electrical Engineer/Consultant who is an enthusiastic and result-oriented team player. Key qualifications include:

  • MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Solid and in-depth work experience with T&D primary equipment, also in the T&D work field.
  • Experience in working with customers in Western Europe will be an advantage.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English. Dutch language is preferred.
  • Openness to travel (about 20% of your time abroad).
  • Attitude to take responsibility for own tasks, competences, and beyond.
  • Curiosity, interested, and engagement and fun to work with.
  • Open mindset, eager to learn and explore the unknown (out of the box thinking).
  • Bottom line, customer focus as your second nature.
