We are seeking a High Voltage Electrical Engineer / Consultant to assist our clients globally in enhancing the affordability, sustainability, and reliability of their high voltage electricity transmission and distribution systems.
You will join the Transmission & Distribution Technology team at DNV's headquarters.
Our diverse team consists of 50 professionals with various academic backgrounds, including PhD, MSc, and BSc degrees, hailing from different cultures. Together, we provide specialized and innovative consultancy services to our clients, primarily consisting of transmission and distribution system operators, power utilities, and industrial sectors.
Your role will involve participation in both national and international projects, collaborating with other teams within DNV that focus on substation projects, asset management, and renewable energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct engineering and consultancy tasks, providing expert advice to clients regarding high voltage electricity Transmission & Distribution (T&D) infrastructure. Perform electrical design for HVAC/HVDC systems, substations, interconnectors, and components related to overhead lines, including insulation design, lightning performance, and conductor selection.Additionally, you will:
Prepare specifications and tender documentation. Execute or oversee commissioning tests, such as factory or site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT). Write or contribute to high-quality reports and commercial proposals. Identify market opportunities and help develop our service portfolio and roadmap. Contribute to business development efforts.This position offers a challenging and varied role within a dynamic international environment. Based on your experience, we will collaboratively create a development plan for your future growth. Our approach emphasizes 70% learning through practical experience, 20% coaching, and 10% formal training.
You will have the chance to advance to a (senior) consulting role, where you will lead and execute projects to assist clients in achieving their project objectives and deliverables. Alternatively, you may choose to develop as a senior technology expert, recognized as an authority in your field.
We are looking for a proactive and ambitious HV Electrical Engineer / Consultant who is an enthusiastic and results-driven team player.
Required Qualifications:
MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Extensive experience with T&D primary equipment and the T&D sector. Familiarity with working with clients in Western Europe is advantageous. Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is preferred. Willingness to travel, approximately 20% of your time abroad. A responsible attitude towards your tasks and competencies. Curiosity and a collaborative spirit, making you enjoyable to work with. An open mindset, eager to learn and explore innovative solutions. A strong customer focus as a fundamental trait.-
