Job Summary:

The Finance and Accountancy Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the accounting of the mission, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and MSF standards and protocols. The successful candidate will have a solid background in accountancy and experience in similar roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating and supervising the accounting of the mission, including cash procedures, bank accounts, receipts, and supporting documents.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations, managing bank reconciliations, and maintaining records according to MSF standards and local finance policies.
  • Assessing and suggesting mitigation measures of the financial risks of the project.
  • Coordinating and overseeing the payment of tax liabilities and conducting local audits relating to accounting, tax, labour, stock, and asset management.
  • Planning and supervising the associated processes of the staff under their responsibility, including recruitment, training, evaluation, and development.
  • Providing technical reference for any accounting-related issues, including compliance with MSF financial standards and procedures, legal compliance, and training and support on the MSF accounting software system.
Requirements:
  • Essential: solid accountancy training and experience, professional accounting qualification, and 4 years of previous experience in similar relevant position jobs.
  • Desirable: experience in opening missions and setting up financial processes, MSF accounting software, ERP system knowledge, and local laws.
We Offer:

An Italian employment contract from 19th August 2024, based on 40 hours per week full-time. Level II CCNL Commercio Terizario Distribuzione e Servizi. The contract is for 1 year with renewal option. Candidate should hold a work permit to work in Italy.

Gross Annual Salary: Between 36,680 Euros and 44,016 Euros, depending on MSF experience of the selected candidate.

Duty Station: Based in MSF Augusta (SR) Sicily office.
