Mechanical Engineering Internship: Redesign of Optical Fiber Packaging and Protection

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering student to join our team at ASML as an intern. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a challenging project that involves redesigning optical fiber packaging to improve transport reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Familiarize yourself with existing fiber packaging and related design standards;
- Investigate transport and packaging related optical fiber damage;
- Investigate how packaging can be improved and propose design concepts;
- Prepare drawings and documentation (so-called TPD), which can be used to get the packaging modified;
- Document and evaluate the test procedure;
- Order, build and test the design (if timing allows).
- Pursuing your bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related;
- Solution-oriented and have a hands-on mentality;
- Have experience with/ an interest in opto-mechanical designs;
- Have some CAD modelling experience (preferably NX);
- Have good English communication skills (verbal and written).
