Job Overview

Vertigo Games, a renowned VR entertainment company, seeks a highly skilled Lead Technical Artist to spearhead the development of cutting-edge VR experiences. As a key member of the art and tech teams, you will be responsible for researching and implementing new tools and techniques to drive innovation in VR development.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive improvements and maintain the toolchain for art asset creation and optimization to meet the team's needs.
• Innovate on techniques in asset creation to achieve optimal visual results on the target platform.
• Provide expert guidance on high-level art-related decisions throughout the development cycle.
• Train other artists in best practices, tools, and processes.
• Lead a team of Technical Artists, planning their work and monitoring their performance.

Requirements

• A deep understanding of rendering theory from cutting-edge consoles to mobile.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine 4/5, with expertise in blueprinting, materials, and shaders.
• Strong optimization skills for both high-end and mobile platforms.
• Excellent management and communication skills.
• Experience with workflow optimization and Python scripting.

Bonus Points

• Prior experience in VR development.
• Familiarity with Substance Painter & Designer, Houdini, and CGFX/HLSL shader languages.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or C#.
