We invite applications for the role of Tenure-Track Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Assistant Professor (multiple positions) within the LKS Faculty of Medicine. This appointment is for a four-year fixed-term period, with the potential for renewal based on satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure prior to the conclusion of a second four-year fixed-term contract.
Candidates must hold a medical qualification that is registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and should ideally have achieved Fellow status with the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or an equivalent credential. A strong clinical background and proficiency in the relevant specialty are essential, along with demonstrated experience in educating medical students, interns, and trainees. A proven ability to initiate and engage in basic, clinical, and/or translational research is crucial. Higher academic qualifications (e.g., MD, MS, PhD) are advantageous.
Successful candidates will be aligned with appropriate departments and will play a strategic role in the development of clinical services. They will also focus on the education of medical students, postgraduate instruction, and academic research. Duties may include responsibilities at affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Individuals with less experience may be considered for the Clinical Assistant Professor role. There will be ample opportunities for professional growth, career advancement, and mentorship, with dedicated time for educational and clinical research activities, tailored to the interests and achievements of the appointees.
A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be provided, along with annual leave and medical benefits. Salaries tax is capped at 15% of gross income. The position includes a contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, amounting to up to 15% of the basic salary. A start-up package aligned with the appointee's needs and experience will be available, alongside a monthly cash allowance and applicable housing benefits.
