About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Author to join our Customer Documentation team at Thales. As a Senior Technical Author, you will be responsible for developing technical user documentation for our high-tech products, including Radar Systems and Command & Control Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain clear and concise technical documentation for our products
  • Collaborate with specialists from throughout the organization to gather technical information and research specifications
  • Test procedures on actual systems to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
  • Write and maintain Operator, Maintenance, and System Manuals
  • Contribute to new developments in the field of publications, including the application of Animation, AR, VR, Video, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Technical background and/or affinity with technology
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Technical Author or similar position
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to write accurate, consistent, clear, and concise English
  • Knowledge/experience in STE (Simplified Technical English) and S1000D V3.0 and V4.1 Data Modules (DMs) is a plus
  • Ability to translate difficult concepts into easily understandable information for end users
  • Ability to lead documentation projects from start to finish
  • Ability to work independently, take initiatives, and work in a team
  • Knowledge of structured data documentation and XML, and knowledge/experience of CSDB/CMS
  • Flexibility and openness to technological changes within the field
