Job Title: Senior Optical Designer

At Sioux Technologies, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation in the high-tech community. We're seeking a seasoned Senior Optical Designer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced optical designer who can guide the entire product creation process from concept phase to industrialization. As a senior, you'll translate customer wishes into system requirements, choose concept solutions, and convert them into designs using optical design tools like Zemax. You'll also ensure manufacturability and reliability, create functional models, and test setups.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design and develop optical systems and products for series production
  • Integrate optical (sub) systems, including opto-mechanics, tolerance analysis, metrology, and calibration
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other fields to further develop and realize designs
  • Guide junior engineers in their projects and coach them to develop their technical talents
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest optical design knowledge and technologies
Requirements
  • Completed academic degree (or PhD) in physics
  • Extensive experience in optical system design and product development
  • Experience in design of optical systems for series production
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions
