Financial Controller Support Specialist

At Rainforest Alliance, we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller Support Specialist to join our Global Accounting team in the Netherlands. This is a key role that will provide primary day-to-day support for annual audit processes and country-specific, project, benefit audits.
The successful candidate will work closely with our global accounting team to ensure the complete processing of monthly foreign financial transactions into our global accounting system. Reconciliation of foreign office cash, advance accounts and checking to ensure field offices meet global requirements for field office reporting, is also part of the job.
This role supports and assists the controller in developing internal financial controls and accounting policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations.
About the RoleThe responsibilities of this role include:
- Working closely with the RAMs globally to ensure the daily/monthly activities of the field transactions related to their HQ are sent on time to HQ.
- Performing detail reviews of the field office monthly transactions, including that monthly bank reconciliations and petty cash/advances are in order, and enter the month's report in the corporate accounting system for supervisor review/posting.
- Providing oversight of the accuracy and timely recording of the day-to-day accounting transactions, including but not limited to banking, payroll, A/P, A/R, G/L, cash management, corporate credit cards, accounting systems and field office accounting consolidations;
- Supporting supervisor and global accounting team with month/year end closes, annual & benefits audits;
- Proactively communicating regarding closes, audits, benefit audit, timecards, and others;
- Supporting the controller in day-to-day management of accounting staff;
- Driving productive collaboration (coordination, communication) with other departments, such as finance, Development, HR ad Markets;
- Maintaining effective communication within the accounting department, F&A, auditors and RA where relevant;
- Serving as a backup for other team members as needed (Account Payables);
- Successful completion of required filings annually;
- Other duties as assigned.
