About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our Data Center team at Deerns. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our business development and go-to-market strategies in the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the data center sector, providing market insights to anticipate client demands and early-stage investments.
  • Develop and implement the business development strategy for the Dutch data center market, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of project opportunities by identifying and targeting potential clients.
  • Proactively seek out and establish new customer accounts by demonstrating Deerns' capabilities and services effectively.
  • Collaborate with the global sector team to expand your network of developers, investors, partners, and contractors, enhancing Deerns' market presence.
  • Contribute to the account management process by preparing management plans and executing specific actions for each account.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and monitor leads, prepare prequalification questionnaires, review Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, assist in proposal preparation, and evaluate proposals.
  • Support Project Managers in negotiating contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, and conducting risk analysis.
  • Drive the enhancement of tools and resources, manage pipeline data, prepare impactful presentations, and assist with marketing activities.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets through strategic planning and execution.
About the Team

The Data Center unit currently consists of project leaders, mechanical and electrical engineers, and data center specialists. As Business Developer, you will be part of the Dutch Data Center team and collaborating with the international Data Center team consisting of the global sector director and the business developers from other countries.

Requirements
  • Proven track record in business development, particularly within the data center sector.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience in consultancy, engineering, or business development.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch (speaking and writing).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be creative, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with clients.
