Job Title: IT Officer for Strategy and Governance

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable IT Officer to join its Information Technology Services (ITS) team. The appointee will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption and effective utilization of technology within the University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the adoption and effective utilization of technology within the University.
  • Serve as a bridge between IT and other faculties, departments, and administrative offices.
  • Advocate for the strategic integration of technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and achieve business objectives.
  • Plan, introduce, customize, and support development projects for the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Perform as a specialist using Power Platform technologies.
  • Utilize best practices in managing the administration and security of the Power Platform.
  • Work with creators to resolve functional issues and debug their apps/flows/reports.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation, standards, training materials, and other artefacts within the technology stacks.
  • Participate in technical design sessions and develop detailed technical solution documentation.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and provide insights on their potential impact and benefits to the organization.
  • Experience in being a technology evangelist and promoting the value and benefits of technology solutions to various departments.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology requirements and vice versa.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
  • Good Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in tertiary education.
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Robust organization and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of technology trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in teams.
  • Ability to work independently and be attentive to details.
  • Good knowledge of and relevant experience in some of the following areas: Power Platform, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Azure, SharePoint, and Dataverse.

  • Fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years.
