We are currently seeking a skilled and knowledgeable professional to join our Revenue Recognition team. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards while supporting our sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert consultation to sales managers during the sales process, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition guidelines.
  • Analyze and review significant software contracts, documenting key terms and conditions.
  • Conduct thorough fact-gathering and problem resolution to determine the appropriate timing and amount of revenue recognition.
  • Perform accounting research related to revenue recognition as needed.
  • Prepare final revenue recognition conclusions and supporting documentation for transactions within designated territories.
  • Educate various teams on best practices in software revenue recognition.
  • Engage in additional projects as required.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is mandatory for this position. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience, including:

  • Identifying revenue recognition challenges in incoming deals.
  • Reviewing non-standard contracts for compliance with ASC 606 and other authoritative guidance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, essential for effective collaboration with team members and management.
  • Ability to operate within the Netherlands time zone.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse professional environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to seek assistance when necessary.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in preparing revenue recognition documentation for new contracts.
  • Collaborating with Sales and Best Practice Managers on contract negotiations to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Communicating fundamental revenue accounting principles to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conducting revenue carve-outs based on Standalone Selling Price (SSP).
  • Ensuring timely and accurate recording of revenues and cost of goods sold.
  • Assisting in quarter-end revenue audit processes.
  • Familiarity with SFDC, Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot tables, MicroStrategy, and SharePoint.
  • Verifying compliance with contract parameters and requirements.
  • Analyzing findings, developing actionable recommendations, and presenting them to senior management.
  • Evaluating workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.
