PhD Researcher in Statistical Theory for Biological Neural Networks

The University of Twente invites applications for PhD and postdoc positions as part of an ERC consolidator grant. Our research program aims to generalize statistical theory from artificial neural networks to biological neural networks, exploring the differences between brain and deep learning structures.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated researchers with a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or similar fields. You will work in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment, collaborating closely with colleagues and researchers.
Responsibilities- Conduct research on generalizing statistical theory from artificial neural networks to biological neural networks;
- Collaborate with the statistics research group at the University of Twente;
- Participate in workshops, conferences, and other scientific events;
To be eligible, you should have:
- A Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field;
- An enthusiasm for statistical theory and its applications;
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills;
- Fluency in English.
