About this role

As an IT Chapter Lead at ING, you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the development of critical applications for the Commercial Finance department. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality software while ensuring the stability and security of the existing system. You will work closely with other chapter leads to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes that enhance the overall performance of the IT area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers in the development of critical applications for the Commercial Finance department.
  • Collaborate with other chapter leads to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes that enhance the overall performance of the IT area.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic domain service layer to integrate the new IT solution within the larger ING target landscape.
  • Build and foster the Java capability within the IT area, supporting activities such as advising the ITAL, recruiting, and coaching engineers.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a software development environment.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills, with a focus on developing and mentoring team members.
  • Excellent technical skills, with experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.
