Full Professor in Macroeconomics

The Rijksuniversiteit Groningen is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to fill the position of Full Professor in Macroeconomics. The successful candidate will be part of the Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance and will contribute to the research program Economics, Econometrics and Finance of FEBRI.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the Bachelor program in Economics and Business Economics, and the master program in Economics, including lecturing, course and program development, and the supervision of bachelor and master theses.
- Enhance the international reputation and international network of the Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance, specifically in the area of macroeconomics.
- Supervise PhD students, mentor junior staff members, and acquire external funding from NWO, ERC, and other sources.
- Contribute to the research program of the Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance, and in particular to macroeconomic research within the program.
- Play a prominent role in stimulating research collaborations with researchers in adjacent fields.
- Participate in the public macroeconomic debate on the national and/or international level.
- PhD degree in Macroeconomics or a related field.
- Broad and outstanding knowledge of macroeconomics, demonstrated by national and international academic publications in major macroeconomic and/or general interest journals.
- Internationally recognized as an authority in the field of macroeconomics, e.g. as demonstrated by memberships of editorial boards of journals in the field and a strong international academic network.
- Excellent teaching abilities, both at the undergraduate and post-graduate level, and experience in curriculum development.
- Experience in supervising PhD students and mentoring staff members.
- Strong management qualities, evidenced by previous management roles.
- Proven ability to create a positive climate within a department and/or faculty.
- Excellent funding acquisition skills.
- Relevant national and international network, which may include connections to national, foreign and supra-national governmental institutions, international financial organizations, and the corporate world.
The chair is a full-time position at the level of full professor. We offer a salary depending on qualifications and work experience starting from € 6,099 (Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) to a maximum of € 10,721 gross salary per month for a full-time position, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees. Favourable tax treatment may apply to Non-Dutch applicants.
