Job Summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a highly experienced Lead Structural Hull Engineer to join our team in Schiedam, Netherlands. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead the structural hull team and be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new floating structures.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional engineer with a strong background in offshore structures, naval architecture, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in floating structural design, including at least 4 years in a leadership role. You should possess excellent management and communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of the floating structure design process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the structural hull team and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Developing and implementing new technologies and methodologies within the discipline.
  • Providing technical guidance to team members and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and classification society rules.

You will also have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, such as designing new FPSO vessels and collaborating with clients and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Offshore Structures/Naval Architecture or a related field.
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in floating structural design, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong management and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the floating structure design process.
  • Experience with ABS hull software ISE/TSA and finite element software FEMAP (preferred).
  • Professional proficiency in English (verbal and written).

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is €120,000 - €150,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
