Job Overview

SBM Offshore is seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the Structural Hull discipline, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of offshore structures, including FPSO projects.

About the Role

This role requires a strong background in structural engineering, with a focus on offshore structures and floating units. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines and budget.

  • Lead and manage the Structural Hull team, overseeing the design process and ensuring compliance with industry standards and classification society rules.
  • Monitor project progress, address any issues or challenges that arise, and coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • An MSc or BSc degree in Offshore Structures / Naval Architecture or equivalent (i.e., Professional Certification).
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in floating structural design, including 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong management and communication skills, with in-depth knowledge of the floating structure design process, from conceptual to construction phases.
  • Extensive experience and technical expertise in structural analysis of global and local hull structures, familiarity with classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyds), and experience in engineering and design of floating units in the Oil & Gas industry.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

A willingness to relocate to the Netherlands or an alternative location within Europe may be required. Proficiency in English is essential, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients worldwide.
