Chemistry Internship: Surface Contamination and Verification

Background InformationThe Cleanliness of Parts group is part of the Defectivity Department, supporting ASML organization, suppliers, and cleaning service providers to design, manufacture, assemble, clean, and verify mono-parts, modules, and systems that meet customer requirements.
Your AssignmentAs a chemistry intern, you will be responsible for understanding particle contamination behavior on surfaces and developing methods to deposit particles for model contamination. Your tasks will include:
- Developing methods to deposit particles for model contamination on different surfaces.
- Evaluating the performance of measurement tools to qualify surface cleanliness.
To be a successful candidate, you should have:
- Strong affinity with surface/interfacial chemistry and materials chemistry.
- Experience with software that supports statistical analysis.
- Experience with working in cleanrooms, SEM-EDX measurements, and various spectroscopic techniques (UV/Vis, fluorescence, NMR, FTIR).
- Strong analytical ability and solution-driven mindset.
- Good communication and networking skills.
As an intern at ASML, you will gain valuable experience in a highly dynamic environment, working with a team of experts in the field. You will receive a monthly internship allowance based on your educational level and number of days per week, plus a possible housing and/or travel allowance. You will also have the opportunity to work in our cleanroom and contribute to the development of new methods and techniques.
