Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Protection Officer to join our team at ING.

About the Role

This is a senior position within our Data Protection Compliance department, responsible for ensuring that personal data processing activities are performed in a compliant manner. As a Global Delegated Data Protection Officer, you will have the opportunity to use your discerning and inquisitive mind to understand complex global initiatives and structural data protection projects.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to manage, advise, and challenge risks related to individual/data subject arising from processing of personal data by ING. This includes participating in global programs to help the first line of defense be compliant with data protection laws and regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinating global data breach events and reporting to Local DPOs and Lead Supervisory Authority as applicable.
  • Steering consistency in approach and interpretation of Data Protection and Data Retention Policies via the DPO community.
  • Providing advice on requests from the Business and challenging their personal data processing via instruments like LIA, DPIA, and TIA within the global scope of the Data Protection Compliance vertical.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5-8 years professional experience with Data Protection activities and related legal experience preferably in a banking environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of GDPR regulation.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work across functional and geographic lines.
  • A university degree, preferably in Law, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary tailored to your qualities and experience, ranging between 80,000 - 110,000 EUR per year, depending on qualifications. Other benefits include:

  • Individual Savings Contribution (BIS), 3.5% of your gross annual salary.
