Financial Risk Management Specialist

As a Financial Risk Management Specialist at Aegon, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the global framework for measuring and managing financial risks. This involves providing financial subject matter expertise to the CFO and CRO for financial risk focused items, such as measurement and monitoring of financial risk ALM and hedging initiatives.
You will be responsible for implementing methodology, for example applying market risk models to devise optimal ALM strategies, and maintaining financial risk aspects of the ERM Framework and setting risk strategy.
As a Global ALM Expert, you will provide global expertise in Asset Liability Management and support the wider financial risk aspects of the ERM Framework. Your responsibility is to enhance ALM and embed the ALM standards of practice.
You will directly support new ALM initiatives and have oversight of existing ALM practices. You will play a leading role in the global ALM community across the Aegon Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the global framework for measuring and managing financial risks
- Provide financial subject matter expertise to the CFO and CRO
- Implement methodology for ALM and hedging initiatives
- Maintain financial risk aspects of the ERM Framework and set risk strategy
- Provide global expertise in Asset Liability Management
- Enhance ALM and embed ALM standards of practice
- Support new ALM initiatives and have oversight of existing ALM practices
Requirements:
- Completed Master's degree in econometrics, physics mathematics or actuarial
- Expert with 6+ years' experience of which 3 in Financial Risk Management
- Technical experience in investment and mismatch risk management, derivatives and hedging
- Proven influencing and relationship management skills
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate technical topics
- Expertise in complex hedging & performance reporting
- Integrity to uphold risk management principals and mandates
- Demonstrable and strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Able to challenge conventional practices and pursue continuous improvement
- Planning, prioritizing and goal setting skills
- Experience in an international corporate setting desirable
- Excellent knowledge of the English language in speech and writing
- Persistent, convincing, decisive, initiative-oriented, solution-oriented and organization-conscious
