Assistant Professor in Theoretical/Computational Soft Matter Physics

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor in Theoretical/Computational Soft Matter Physics to join our research unit Soft Matter and Biological Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in theoretical or computational soft matter physics and a proven track record of research excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality academic research in theoretical or computational soft matter physics, with a focus on soft-matter related topics in statistical physics and complex systems, biological physics, chemical physics, and materials science and technology.
- Develop and lead an independent research group, generating funding and supervising/coaching students at the bachelor/master/PhD level.
- Contribute to the development of the Applied Physics bachelor and master teaching program, with a focus on teaching and mentoring students.
- Collaborate with other research units, departments, and industry partners to advance the field of soft matter physics.
- PhD in Theoretical/Computational Physics or a related field, with at least two years of experience as a (postdoctoral) researcher.
- Ability to conduct high-quality academic research, reflected in demonstrable outputs.
- Affinity and willingness to teach and contribute to the Applied Physics curriculum.
- Collaborative skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent (written and verbal) proficiency in English.

- Partially paid parental leave and an allowance for commuting, working from home and internet costs.
