This role will play a significant part in shaping the business strategy for Clifford Chance, initially in Amsterdam, with a future emphasis on cross-border initiatives throughout Continental Europe. The responsibilities are expected to expand internationally in line with the anticipated evolution of our Client and Market Development organization across Europe.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will work closely with legal professionals and other CMD team members across our network to ensure the firm capitalizes on significant trends and opportunities within our client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities include:
Assisting the Amsterdam Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Tax, Pensions, Employment, and Projects Finance practice areas, while advising leadership teams on executing their commercial strategies. Supporting partners in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Tax, Pensions, Employment, and Projects Finance practices in identifying and pursuing opportunities to meet the needs of both existing and prospective clients, as well as developing and implementing strategies to maximize growth potential. Additionally, contributing to the European (fin)tech hub. Aiding lawyers in discovering and pursuing new business opportunities, including leading the creation of bid documents (pitches, responses to RFPs, and capability statements), frequently collaborating with pricing, graphics, and global proposals teams. Collaborating with CMD colleagues across Europe and globally on strategic cross-border projects to enhance growth potential in client sectors and practice service lines, particularly in European tech and fintech initiatives. Managing league table and legal directory submissions to elevate our external profile, in close partnership with our global submissions team. Overseeing client relationship management for one or more major global clients.Team Dynamics
The CMD Amsterdam team is part of Clifford Chance's leading global and regional CMD team.
Our Amsterdam team consists of international CMD professionals with diverse backgrounds who prioritize client-centric approaches. The team includes three CMD managers, a CMD coordinator, and two Events managers, all reporting to the Head of CMD. Collaboration with our Brand, Communication, and Marketing (BCM) specialists is essential.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who possess:
An academic degree (bachelor's or master's). A minimum of five years of proven experience in business development or practice management within professional services or law firms. Extensive experience in strategic business planning, key account management, and handling complex RFPs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders, along with well-developed presentation skills, confidence, resilience, and focus. Capability to operate across borders and cultures. Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic environment and adaptability to an evolving and increasingly international role. Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Dutch is advantageous.Our Offer:
