Job Summary

As a Field Sales Manager at GEODIS Benelux, you will be the key link between our new customers and our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage, realize, and develop the Freight Forwarding business activities of new customers within the framework of our Marketing and Business Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor customer issues, and tailor the customer's wishes to our established products and services.
  • Develop a complete solution in collaboration with our support departments, and inform and provide information to customers about market developments and our products.
  • Manage and coordinate our customer portfolio in accordance with our guidelines and using our CRM system.
  • Be responsible for contacts with customers and align the various sub-activities within projects.
  • Maintain contact with internal stakeholders on business opportunities to achieve objectives.
  • Independently provide quotations and draw up contracts, and execute and answer tenders.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a commercial freight forwarding environment in a commercial account management role.
  • A bachelor degree relevant to logistics or international business management.
  • Basic understanding of corporate financials (costs, loss, profit, buy-ins).
  • Excellent language skills in both Dutch & English and good intercultural relationship skills.
  • Insatiable appetite to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the logistics industry.
  • Flexibility to be reachable for escalations outside working hours and willingness to back up colleagues during absence or peaks.
  • Service-minded listener and convincing communicator, ready to be challenged by demanding high-profile clients and fulfill their logistical needs.
  • Well-experienced in handling a client portfolio while developing new business with hot prospects.
