About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join our Procurement and Pricing team at Nippon Express Europe GmbH as a Tender Manager. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the tender process, creating competitive proposals, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender Process Support: Assist the regional Tender Management team in analyzing and validating information from internal stakeholders, developing response formats and pricing matrices, responding to queries, and submitting RFQs to customers or bid owners.
  • Proposal Development: Provide high-quality proposals to bid owners and Tender Management Teams for validation and submission to customers.
  • Tender Analysis: Analyze tenders and recommend optimum business solutions.
  • Pricing Database Management: Support and maintain pricing databases for transportation rates and logistics/distribution rates.
  • Tender Data Profiling: Maintain tender data profiling and records, including monthly bid logs and completed tenders.
  • Market Intelligence: Support procurement team in gathering market intelligence on competitors' pricing, capabilities, facilities, client base, products, and services.
  • Post-Bid Analysis: Ensure post-bid analysis is performed for all bids, successful or unsuccessful, and shared with stakeholders for bid tracking.
  • Opportunity Follow-up: Ensure follow-up and closure of all opportunities, providing accurate estimations of win/retained/lost bids, volumes, and trade lane information.
  • Reporting and Administration: Maintain reporting databases and generate ad-hoc reports as required and adhere to good business practices.

Requirements:

  • Industry Knowledge: General knowledge of ocean forwarding business (customers, competitors, suppliers, and overall environment)
  • Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience in freight forwarding (Air/Ocean Cargo)
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical thinking with strong passion for accuracy and detail-orientation is a must
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation capabilities
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills (prioritize, plan, assign, and control)
  • Education: Business Administration / Commercial Background
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English mandatory, other languages advantageous
  • IT Skills: IT experience regarding ocean freight operations
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in MS Office, specifically Excel. (Access is an advantage); Knowledge of any Transportation Management System (TMS) such as CargoWise or SAP or CRM is a plus.
