The Role
We are looking for a Sales Engineer with a technical background and a commercial mindset to join our Vessel Leasing and Sales team. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful utilization of our fleet, working closely with our operations department to ensure timely and accurate execution of lease contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and follow up leasing offers;
- Monitor market developments, conditions, and lease rates;
- Identify opportunities for Damen-built vessels;
- Draft and negotiate lease contracts;
- Responsible for post-fixture activities and work alongside operations staff for the coordination and follow-up between the client, captains, agents, and brokers;
- Establish excellent working relationships with existing Damen clients, Damen newbuild sales teams, and build new client base;
- Visit projects, clients, and vessels when required, reporting written conclusions including possible operational and technical improvements.
Requirements
- Technical education, preferably MAROF, but also shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, or other technical backgrounds could be interesting;
- A minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in the maritime industry, for example, as a Marine Surveyor, Chief Engineer, or Superintendent;
- Pro-active and independent approach, being able to work in a structured manner;
- Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language, both in writing and speaking;
- A strong and powerful communicator and negotiator;
- Willingness to travel abroad.
