Are you ready to influence the Data Revolution within the banking sector? If you possess a deep enthusiasm for data and recognize its pivotal role in delivering value to clients, we invite you to contribute to the Central Data Office (CDO) at ABN AMRO.

As a DevOps Coach, your mission is to empower and elevate the Data Engineering teams within the CDO, fostering a culture of continuous enhancement in their software development and operational methodologies. Leveraging your analytical expertise and background in Agile and DevOps, you will help us evolve into an IT organization that prioritizes both customer and employee satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities

In your role as a DevOps Coach, you will be instrumental in mentoring our teams to embrace and excel in Agile and DevOps methodologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Agile and DevOps practices, enhance CI/CD processes, and boost overall delivery efficiency. Your contributions will vary, requiring you to adapt your approach to meet the needs of different teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advocating and coaching teams and leadership on best practices in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Assessing existing DevOps processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Engaging in performance discussions with teams and management to determine potential enhancements.
  • Facilitating workshops, training sessions, and hands-on labs to develop team competencies.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and automation.
  • Encouraging collaboration among DevOps teams.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and advancements in Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Acting as a thought leader in the ongoing DevOps transformation, utilizing your expertise to guide management.
Work Environment

You will collaborate closely with fellow DevOps professionals, each managing distinct areas of focus and responsibility. The organization strives for a cohesive approach to IT transformation, and you will play a key role in shaping this strategy for your designated area. Your stakeholders will include DevOps teams, Grid Owners, IT Leads, (Lead) Product Owners, and Chapter Leads, whom you will guide in fostering organizational growth through information sharing, inspiration, and advisory support.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in an Agile and DevOps capacity with a strong emphasis on coaching or mentoring.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean, Agile, and DevOps methodologies and practices, including Agile scaling methods such as SAFe, LeSS, and Nexus.
  • Familiarity with software development practices, particularly CI/CD.
  • Experience in Lean methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build rapport and inspire diverse teams.
  • A results-oriented mindset, capable of working with various stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
