Job Title: Instructor (Technical)

Carnival Corporation and plc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructor (Technical) to join our team at CSMART. As an Instructor (Technical), you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality training to cruise ship officers, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver training to ship-board technical staff, adhering to the CSMART course delivery process.
  • Act as a representative of the corporate safety culture, promoting a positive attitude with candidates.
  • Develop new courses and procedures to be implemented on board ships, staying up-to-date with current practices and technology.
  • Liaise with the Operations Support team and other instructors to ensure a seamless training experience.
  • Follow up with underperforming and outstanding participants, managing equipment and simulators as needed.
Requirements & Experience:
  • Typically, 5 years of experience in a STCW (III/2 Chief engineer unlimited or III/6) licensed role or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Engineer / Superintendent or Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the Maritime Field.
  • Leadership experience in the Maritime Field for at least 5 years.
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking skills.
  • Cruise Ship experience is highly preferred, with teaching/instructing experience being an asset.
Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of technical aspects, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of computers and networks.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
Language Skills:
  • Fluent written and verbal English language skills.
  • Able to effectively convey information across.
Personal Skills:
  • Demonstrate a growing mindset and ability to influence others.
  • Able to navigate complex social dynamics, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Works well in a multi-cultural team.
  • Ability to work unassisted.
