Job Title: Freelance Transcriber

International Criminal Court is seeking a skilled Freelance Transcriber to join our team of language professionals. As a Freelance Transcriber, you will be responsible for transcribing audio and video recordings in English, ensuring high-quality transcripts that meet our standards.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Freelance Transcriber who can work independently and as part of a team to provide transcription services for our operations. The successful candidate will have excellent language skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transcribe audio and video recordings in English with high accuracy and speed
  • Consult with our Transcription Team to clarify ambiguities and improve transcription quality
  • Apply feedback provided by our Transcription Team to ensure delivery of high-quality transcripts
Requirements:
  • Mother-tongue proficiency in English
  • Professional qualification in languages or linguistics (desirable)
  • Prior experience in transcription or language-related profession (desirable)
  • Excellent computer and IT skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Assessment Method:

Candidates will be invited to sit a transcription accreditation test. Accreditation is subject to obtaining the necessary security clearance. Successful candidates will be placed on our roster of accredited transcribers.

Offers of Work:

Accredited transcribers on our roster will be contacted for work assignments based on their availability, suitability for a particular project, and information security constraints. The ICC makes no absolute guarantee of freelance work.

Nature of Work:

As a Freelance Transcriber, you will be working with sensitive and potentially disturbing material. You must be aware of the nature of our mandate and operations and be able to handle the content accordingly.
