We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Master student in Mechanical Engineering to join our team as an intern. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a challenging project related to the investigation and testing of mechanical clamping solutions for optical fibers.
About the ProjectThe project involves a theoretical analysis and experimentation of the impact of different V-groove designs, materials, dimensions, and fibers on optical performance. The candidate will also be responsible for analyzing and testing the impact of different clamping forces, force vectors, and friction on optical performance. Additionally, the intern will be required to report test results and provide a theoretical analysis, define recommendations for fiber clamping designs, and analyze and test the impact of operational heat loads on fiber clamping on optical performance.
About the Role- Conduct theoretical analysis and experimentation of the impact of different V-groove designs, materials, dimensions, and fibers on optical performance.
- Analyze and test the impact of different clamping forces, force vectors, and friction on optical performance.
- Report test results and provide a theoretical analysis.
- Define recommendations for fiber clamping designs.
- Analyze and test the impact of operational heat loads on fiber clamping on optical performance.
- Master student in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with opto-mechanical designs.
- Interest in laser and fiber technology.
- Solution-oriented, self-motivated, proactive, and hands-on mentality.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
